A WEEK IN HISTORY
Last week is a remarkable representation of hypocrisy. The week began with Martin Luther King Day. He truly stood for the American Way. But the American people have bought the lie of the new King "image."
MLK spoke of men created equal. Today all ideas, morals, ethics, and religions hold equal value. He believed in civil rights. Today we exchange black racism for white racism. His right to life was meant for all. Today we exclude the unborn. His definition of liberty was quite different than robbing those who have, to give to those who have not.
Inauguration Day reeked of hypocrisy. The truth of Obama's words was ignored. Instead, Obama mania prevailed. He stated that America was shaped by Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers. Not so, it was shaped by Christian principles. He stated that all men are free to pursue happiness; not so, murdered unborn citizens are never given a chance.
Obama stated that our ideals still light the world, yet we must change for the approval of the world. He stated that it didn't matter if government was too big or too small, but just that it worked. He approved experimenting with it. Yet, scholars for hundreds of years have praised America for the solid principles of our government.
The news media exaggerated the grandeur of the day. Little was mentioned of the booing of President Bush, disorderly crowds, mixed messages of Obama's speech, or the disrespectful remarks of a preacher against the white race.
The week ended in hypocrisy. The President, Congress, news media, and even the general public ignored 200,000 Right to Life marchers in Washington D.C. As a nation speaks of justice for all, the unborn must ask for life through marchers that courageously asked to be heard. Yet, within days, the President defiantly reversed Reagan's law, reinstated by Bush. Now taxpayers' money will support not only USA funded abortions, but also worldwide abortions.
Unless we return to a culture of life, our nation will continue to die. Every citizen who says "No" to God, and the Commandment that states, "Thou shalt not kill," loses respect for himself. Common sense tells man that life begins at conception and murder is wrong. This week, however, hypocrisy was king, and when hypocrisy reigns, the advancement of society stops.
